Iran animation to vie at US festival

Iranian animation 'The Servant' is scheduled to be screened at Arizona International Film Festival in the US.

Directed by Farnoush Abedi, the animation tells the tale of a giant cockroach who gets tired of his servitude to man.

‘The Servant’ previously won the Best Animation award at the 33rd Tehran International Short Film Festival, which was held from November 8-14, 2016, in Tehran.

The 26th Arizona International Film Festival, the longest running and largest film festival in Arizona, will run from April 19-30, 2017, at exhibition venues throughout downtown Tucson.

The festival theme of Bridging Cultures provides a way for independent cinema to share images and voices from diverse cultures with communities in Arizona, according to the website of the festival.

Since 1990, the Arizona International Film Festival has screened over 2,600 films from 90 countries to 152,000 Arizonans of all ages.
